GB Projects

Design and engineering

We work alongside specifiers and designers and prioritise function, craftsmanship and ergonomics to flesh out clients’ vision. Our in-house experts ensure any furniture design is optimised to improve performance, longevity and sustainability while maintaining the desired look and feel of the end product.

It starts with anything as simple as a sketch of an imagined product or concept. But we don’t simply get to work on designs our clients send – we take a detailed look at the plans to ascertain where we can add value or improve on them and work with the client to rectify problems and suggest alternatives.

At the concept and design stage of furniture manufacturing, we can advise on what works and what doesn’t while making recommendations for material choices, construction methods, assembly techniques and striking finishes.

GB Projects has more than 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We’ve made significant investments in modern software, including the full AutoCAD design suite, and state-of-the-art machinery in a bid to continue to innovate and remain one step ahead of the competition. CNC machining is our particular area of expertise – we use three, four and five-axis CNC wood working machines. Our 5m x 10m 160-tonne heated press enables us to efficiently apply veneers and high pressure laminates to sheet material and surfaces, while our edge banding, spray painting and furniture assembling capabilities add the finishing touches.

Our attention to detail and a commitment to closely involve the client results in precision accuracy of visuals and a higher quality finished project.
